Need

Create a visualization to support the monitoring of thousands of systems and their associated data elements.

Idea

This visualization presents all the data available to the user, allowing users to see the exact status of each queue, process, and hard drive required to enable smooth data flow through the Enterprise. By presenting this data at once, rather than hiding it, users are able to see the status of the network at a glance.

Benefit

This visualization provides a 'longshot', an overview of the entire data space on one display. Its functional, left to right organization mirrors the operational workflow of the enterprise. The explicit connection of functional systems replaces knowledge formerly gleaned over years of operator experience. The elegance spatial/salience coding allows anomalies to 'pop' forward off the screen and be easy to detect and understand. (This display also has associated drill down/detailed display to go deep.)
